A Gone but not Forgotten Trend Setter

It was 14 years ago that Notorious B.I.G was gunned down on March 9, 1997.

He was just 24 when he was killed, leaving behind two children, Cyanna and CJ. The Brooklyn native would likely have celebrated the May 21st date (his 39th birthday) with those children and his mother, Voletta Wallace.

B.I.G was not only famous for his music, but also famous for making the Coogi clothes line famous. His introduction of the line in 1990 helped skyrocket the brand into the world of mad trends and hip-hop. In his platinum single, One More Chance, he uses the line, I stay Coogi down to the socks, which slowly started an ensuing buying frenzy among B.I.G.’s fans and hiphop lovers everywhere.

Notorious B.I.G. was a Trend Setter

B.I.G‘s style was reproduced and copied by everyone, and he really started a trend by accident. His style is now available in children’s clothing, as well. Coogi brand can be recognized by four elements: bright colors, movement, signature patterns, and intricate weaves.
