White

 

This color signifies purity and is often used in bridal gowns. This neutral color comes in variations that match all skin tones; look for crisp white, off –white and winter white colors. The right clothing piece or accessory can give anyone the look of purity that is reflected in many romanticized stories.

 

 

Pink

 

Pink is the color of valentines, roses and innocence. This color is used often on products that exude a feeling of affection about something or someone. A soft pink blouse or sweater instantly projects warm feelings. This may explain the large assortment of products offered to women that hold this color.

The color of the sun and daisies is a romantic color that radiates youth and vitality. Yellow used an accessory brings a fresh take on the standard romantic color wheel. The concept of youth directly relates to the essence of being innocent. A class romantic notion is that the two (youth and innocence) appear simultaneously.

 

Lavender

 

Lavender is a color that is part of the purple grouping. A true purple hue is a bit too harsh, but lavender provides a light and innocent feeling. This feminine color is found naturally in flowers, which adds to the dreamy reaction. This non-traditional color of love is found in various accessories and clothing.

It’s All About the Jeans; A Staple of Fashion

Skinny jeans, boot cut jeans, flares, acid washed denim. All find their way into our closets at one point or another. This versatile garment takes us to work, school and home. What is not to like?

The latest trend in cut is the skinny jean. Adopted by the hipsters, now anyone who is stick-thin is wearing them. A flash-back to the grunge styles of the early 90′s, this cut seems to be sticking around for a while. Be forewarned – not everyone can get away with wearing these jeans as they will reveal every last bulge.

Fashion is all about extremes, meaning that the next trend in jeans will be a wide leg. Although the boot cut and flare was popular for a long time, chances are that the cut will start wide at the top of the thigh and stay wide down to the ankle. Although the resurgence of the 1970′s in fashion will most likely give us a re-do of the wide legged flare and bell bottoms. Time to break out the platform shoes and the disco balls!

There are those who follow the crowd, and there are those who prefer to break away. Fortunately for the break-aways, they will always be able to find a cut of jean to satisfy them. It used to be that there was almost no choice for those who did not want to wear the latest fashions, so the wearer got stuck. Nowadays there are so many companies and clothing stores selling jeans. It provides a wide variety for the customer so no one gets stuck anymore.

Mothers and grandmothers will remember playing with paper doll cutouts. For some, these were the alternative to the expensive Barbie dolls, clothing, and accessories of the time. For others, it was a fun way to play dress up using separates to make outfits by interchanging cut out clothing.

The diversity in looks today, gives big girls the chance to play cutouts with their wardrobe for the perfect mash-ups. There are an infinite number of ways to swap items of clothing to create outfits for different times and special occasions.

For Business

In the 1960′s, women everywhere were returning to work as part of their newly found freedom in the women’s liberation movement. However, many women dressed in their Sunday best in order to ensure that they competed with men, to look like they were serious about doing business.

Today, wearing a simple short jacket on top of a simple black dress with a thick silver belt gives the look of professionalism without spending money on an expensive business suit.

Additionally, wearing A-line skirts in solid colors with a ruffled floral or print blouse and black beads is a classic for the office and the business lunch.

For the Party

The same jacket worn on top of a silky sundress with metallic or golden shoes is formal enough for a business party, yet hip enough for a casual get-together with close friends.

For outdoor summer barbecues, day or evening, wear the same sundress, comfortable-fitting sandals, topped off with a burlap beach bag tied with a colorful scarf instead of a clasp.

Wearing decent clothing doesn’t have to equate with who someone is as a person, but it may help outsiders get a glimpse of what people might be like artistically, professionally or spiritually. Dressing to gain the respect of others should be on the to-do list for many occasions. People who desire a new career might have completely flawless interviewing skills and flub on the appropriate attire. This may be enough to dissuade the human resources department from filling the position. Women may have painted fingernails in soft, neutral tones. Clothing should appear the same way. Heavy perfumes or colognes should be avoided.

Weddings are deemed to be one of the initial events of independent, post-collegiate life. Attire for the bride and groom are usually somewhat standard and elegant in appearance, but it often leaves guests wondering what fashion should be worn. It’s typically acceptable for men to sport a pressed suit complete with a tie and cufflinks. Women are usually encouraged to wear skirts, dresses or slacks to such an event. Colors can vary, but if they are too bright in nature, it’s best to avoid them since attention should be paid to the new couple.

Parties entitle guests to express themselves with clothes more freely, although there are still some things to keep in mind. While it’s okay to be relaxed, it’s important not to be the bag lady’s twin. When people don’t have money and are limited to what they have, that’s one thing. We shouldn’t place judgment for it. Men or women wanting to wear button-down shirts with slacks will not be frowned upon.

Sports apparel is becoming extremely popular for men and women. Fashion is becoming an important part of the major sports leagues, and women’s fashions are becoming especially popular. Start wearing your favorite team’s gear as part of your fashion statement. Try combinations of clothing that feature your team to help add to your look. For example, have your team’s logo on everything from your pants to your shoes. Wear your team pride and it will catch on.

3) Customization

When you take a pair of pants or a shirt and add your own touch to it, then you have created something that no one can buy. It makes your fashion statement unique and your own. Start sewing patches from other countries on your jeans, or use a fabric marker to write your favorite website addresses on your t-shirts. Make an original statement using something that you create to add to your wardrobe.

There are many reasons that people want to make the changes to a live more economic lifestyle. Many people are interesting in saving the environment and ensuring that they are purchasing the healthiest and more natural items for their families. Many people do not think about purchasing cloth items made with organic material as a way of going green but organic cotton is a great way help the environment and purchase a great product.

Buying items made with organic cotton can make a huge impact on your green footprint because there is cotton in almost everything that you use. From the clothing you wear to the towels you use, even the diapers and feminine products that line your cupboards are made of cotton.

Cotton is used to produce more products than any other material. However, with the production or cotton come growers using pesticides, fungicides, and insecticides, which are all known carcinogens. When you chose to buy products that are made organically you are ensuring that nothing that can harm you or the environment was used in the making of the product.

If you stop to think about the damage that all those chemicals are doing to the environment you are likely to stop using products made that way, but people rarely stop to think what those chemicals are doing to themselves. Cotton products are either used very close to the body are used to against the body. We are placing those chemicals next to our skin. The same cotton that was sprayed with those chemicals is now touching your bare skin or touching the skin or your infant. Thinking about that makes a great many people switch to organically grown cotton.

Fashion Tips For Any Season

There are times in every season when you wish that the weather would just halt and your could change into something that you would wear in a different time of year. Fortunately, there are several trends that can take you year around if you just know so tricks.

If you live somewhere where it snows then you know how frustrating it can be to wear snow boots for months on end. There are times when you just want to put on a cute pair of pumps and a skirt or dress and say goodbye to bulky winter sweaters and shoes. If this is the case, then there is a very sneaky way that you can make sure that your feet stay dry while still being able to wear your pumps. From your home to your car and from the car to the office, wear your snow boots and brave the snow. Once inside the comfort of your office, replace your snow boots with a cute pair of pumps.

If you are so tired of wearing dull and drab colors through the winter and you want to add some color back into your wardrobe then you can always add a pop of color. It might look a little strange if you were to show up to work in the middle of winter wearing a hot pink dress, but it would be perfectly acceptable to wear a pink accessory like a belt or undershirt. The same blah color might get tiring as you wear it for the entire duration or color, so find ways to add it into your wardrobe. Add a color cami under a winter sweater, wear a shiny pair of red pumps, or sport a colorful clutch.

If you are more interested in wearing a beloved sweater during the warmer months, make sure that you pair it with something that is more summer so that you not make people think that you have the flu and are trying to say warm. Pair a flirty skirt with a long sleeve cardigan or match a cute dress with a soft sweater.

When you become a mother the last thing that you are usually thinking about is the way that your look and the clothes that you are wearing. As my friends with young children have pointed out to me, you will end up with spit up and food all over you before the morning is even out. However, as your children get older and are more independent, parents, especially mothers seem to be stuck in the same phase of fashion that they were when their children came home from the hospital.

There are several reasons why you should decide to take off the sweats and rejoin the world of clothing wearing adults. One of the most important reasons is that you will feel better about yourself.
